is it likely that the switch is identical in an XM? If so, ...

That'd be FAR too sensible for Citroen. ;) They're different, I'm afraid.

The electric mirror switch is visually the same as series one XMs though, but electrically I've no idea.

Electrically it will work on BXs with two electric mirrors but the up/down buttons work in an opposite direction to the way you'd expect (there is a third visually identical switch fitted to single electric mirror BXs which again is electrically different... )

Back to the window switch - I think I have one, I'll check tomorrow and let you know.

How would you identify such a switch? I've got quite a few window switches but I wouldn't have a clue which ones are 'one touch' - any identifying features/serial numbers?

The normal ones just have one up and one down button down. The one touch ones have an extra pair of buttons in the middle which if you press them once, the window goes all the way in that direction.

Hi Ray,

I take it you were referring to the Electric window switch rather than an electric mirror switch as that is what Kevan is trying to source !
The one touch electric window switches are identical and will work no problems from an XM S1 also from an S2's but some higher spec. S2's also have small LED/lights fitted to them for extra/night illumination (BTW If fitted with the light/illumination there constantly on when the ignition is on) but will still operate/work fine in the BX also IIRC some early Pug 405's models used the same switch too until the face-lifted model came out when the switch was then different !

I hope that may help your search options Kevan, I do have a spare XM one but I'm keeping that for my XM fleet as you never know when one is going to fail and good used spare ones are getting hard to source now !

still available new though, albeit the switch faces are a little different, but it's still a direct replacement.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Hi RxBx

Another joy of English - "...they (the subject of the original message) are the same. (But) The electric mirror switch is visually the same though.. See? :)

Back to switches, I don't have one-touch in my BX, but I saw it on a car of Richardd1652's, and it wasn't the same as my XM one-touch. However, I jumped to the conclusion that all BX's would have a switch like this, and that was quite silly.

Hopefully slightly clearer than mud. :)

Sorry, the spare I have is a normal switch not a one touch type.
