The valver is going into the bodyshop next week .Seeing as it is nigh on impossible to get bumper trims i've decided to do away with the trims and get the bodyshop to fill and smooth where the trims would go. I know this spoils the originalty but seems the easiest solution. Anyone got a picture of a white valver that they could photoshop to show how this would look. Many thanks. Mark.

That was quick Phil :-)

My first impression was - looks fine - then I kept looking at it and it didn't really grow on me. Perhaps the bumper does look a bit chunky without the centre trim - perhaps some coachlines painted in ? Easy to do once the bumper is filled and sprayed.

If I were you, I'd fill the trim clip holes with flexible filler, smooth the groove along it's length and get a good quality red insulation tape and stick it into the channel. Make sure the ends are neatly trimmed and it's a good, sticky tape - and you'll be surprised at the finish.

What's actually up with the trims that you have? Are they the black plastic coated one's that have started to crack & peal off? Why not just re-condition them by removing the plastic, & re-spray them, that would work out a lot cheaper than filling & painting?

I would think it would be nigh on impossible to fill these to a decent standard. The filler would be paper thin where it curves round to the front face and just continually crack and the finish on the filler would be a lot smoother than that of the bumper.

I saw it don on a P2 valver in France, and it looked quite good. The whole car looked to have been sprayed, and was really mint.

Although, isn't yours a P1, with the standard bumpers? I find it hard to believe that you can't find any new ones.

Thanks for the response the front trim is off an estate so is the incorrect thicker broader type of trim have tried to obtain the proper trim on for sale/wanted on here but to no avail. I refurbed the trim on the back bumper. If anyone has a spare front trim it would be most appreciated. Many thanks. Mark.

If it's the car in the avatar I actually think it would really suit this particular car if it could be done, I think the minimalist all graphite look would look great.

Phil re-colour the piccie??
