WANTED: Odd one (Rover V8 & LDV Pilot) but you never kno

Post by Kitch »

I\'m after a 2wd 5 speed LT77 or R380 gearbox from something like an SD1 or TR7/8 etc. Doesn\'t have to be mint, but ideally working.

Also after a gearbox from an LDV Pilot 1.9D (XUD engine) van. This doesn\'t have to be working, but it does need a bell housing!

All will be revealed, although it\'s obvious enough at this stage!

Cheers to anyone who can help!

LT77 would probably be considered a downgrade from a T5

Cheers Tim, will check it out.

Sounds more like a kit car to me.

Try the lr4x4 forum (http://forums.lr4x4.com/), many people on there have been hording LR parts for decades, ask in the 'Wanted' bit and i'm sure someone can help.

LR not much help as they\'re all 4wd boxes sadly. Needs to be SD1 basically. Theres a couple of eBay I\'m watching but they\'re being bumped up by idiots who bid when theres still 5days to go so I fear they\'ll go for silly money.

Does it matter if there 4Wd boxes? Just shroud the rearward output, a touch extra weight, but probably a lot more common.

<Probably exposing how little i know abotu 4wd cog boxes>

It does mate, in this case anyway. I will only just have enough space to fit a stock LT77, let alone a bigger one! And the extra weight wouldn\'t be welcome!

Cheers
