Very Lucky

Post by mds141 »

Arrived home this morning after the night shift and noticed a strong smell of petrol so i popped the bonnet and discovered the fuel line to the fuel rail had badly perished and was pissing fuel all over the place, so glad it didn't land on the exhaust manifold! So question is has anyone replaced this fuel line and does it run from the fuel rail all the way back to the fuel pump. If the rest of the line is in good condition i was thinking of cutting out the perished section installing a in-line filter and then fresh hose to replace the damaged section. Any thoughts/advice you might have would be most appreciared. Cheers Mark. :)

citroen fuel lines

Post by djm666 »

i replace my fuel lines on the petrols every 3 years, they are shit for breaking and perishing. the originals were the best at lasting. if you can get your hands on some.

they only run to the metal pipes down by the rear of the front subframe, so not too far, and yes, every 3 years or so is a good time to replace, since they do indeed degrade quite quickley.
