19 n/a diesel idle

Post by Philip Chidlow »

What is the correct idle range? Mine seems a little high at 900 rpm - and 1050 when cold.

Sticky throttle cable the problem if it is?

1050 when cold, assuming the cols start actually works (which is rare!) is fine, it should come down to 850 / 900 as it warms up, so yeah, nothing much to worry about there.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Excellent. Seems to be running like a dream. Not much puff at start up from cold and pretty responsive. Well pleased.

*mind you, turning the air con on doesn't exactly boost power* lol

I've got air con in the MX-5. Turning it on makes causes no noticeable drop in power.

Mind you, it causes no noticeable drop in temperature either – it's never worked since I had it!
