Citroen BX14TE St Tropez 1990

Post by Des Smith »

OK guys, just posted on eBay tonight is my Citroen BX14TE St Tropez with just over 80000 miles. Here is the link if you want to have a look...

The starting price is what I paid for her last July and I have spent £1800 getting her sorted out this far, but she does need more TLC. The MOT runs to September 2011 and apart from more work required to the rear wings she is very sound.

Nice looking St Tropez. Did you take the shield off of the exhaust manifold because it rattled? Mine does that now and then.

Just looked carefully at the K1G engine pic in my Haynes Manual and I can see the hot air intake uses a collector over the manifold. Must admit I hadn't noticed that it was missing before, but it wasn't on the car when I got it, so probably a previous owner would have removed it. Doesn't seem to have had any effect on cold weather starting; even in the freezing weather last winter she fired up first go and warmed up quickly enough. On the plus side, less weight = faster acceleration!!!

Just sold to Richard for £270, so she's going to a good home (fleet?). Some kind of record for me on eBay - 1424 page hits and 65 watchers, most of whom were probably on this forum. :)
