Wanted - 1.4 BX

Hi everyone,

I am currently on the look out for a 1.4 BX preferably in the North-west but will consider futher afield depending on the condition of the car and the price.

Regarding condition I dont really mind if the bodywork and interior is a little tatty but I would prefer it to be more or less mechanically sound.

If anyone has one for sale or knows where there is one please let me know. I am looking at spending around £350 (is this reasonable for a 1.4?)

2 years ago that would have been about right, i think you will need to spend more to get a semi-decent one now though, they've gone up in value, good luck with your search though, you never know, you could get lucky & get one for around that sort of money.

How much more do you think I will be needing to spend, as I am not after a minter, I just want something I can work on, on the run up to being able drive.

Id quite happily sell you my 1.4 for 350 quid, but im far from being in the north-west.
So probably not much help.

I'd have a budget of £600 tbh, that way it gives you a bit more of a chance of finding one which isn't easy anyway as bx's are slim on the ground these days, hence why prices have zoomed up. I wouldn't worry about distance, i went all the way to glasgow to get my gti which was sight unseen, that cost me £310 at the time approx 5yrs ago, sold it about a year ago for more than 3 times what i paid

I shall e-mail you some proper details later on this eve, but as Tim says, search for St Tropez or Tesco Value BX and i think you will find my car on the forum, i certainly have some pics etc up of it.
