A bit pricey, so I put in an offer comparable to the O/S panel. Can't see it being refused as he has 3 to sell. Still, you never know.

Now the search is on for a BX-friendly body specialist who can take off the old panels and make a good job of welding in the new ones. Any pointers very welcome.

Excellent, it's great to hear you are commited to the restoration of your St. Tropez. I think body pannels will be the main stumbling block to keeping our BX's on the road in the not too distant future. There are very few about and these ones coming to light now (especially the N/Sbeing genuine citroen) are probably the last available. Even if our cars are kept rust free it would only take a minor RTC to write off our cars if the pannels aren't available to repair them.

I assumed that new replacement panels had long since disappeared and that I was looking at having to weld and fill the rusty bodywork, but there is only so much of that you can do. The back end is the grot spot on my car and it had an advisory last MOT. It's due up in September, so depending on what pops up then, there could be some serious stuff happening over the autumn. I'll also be putting a wanted list together for lesser bits that need to be replaced. I've got odd tail lights (one green, one grey) that bugs the hell out of me plus the warm air scoop for the winter air inlet is missing, plus a few other minor jobs. I'll be doing a list this weekend, I think.

Is the green tinted one in decent nick? If it is i can do a swapsies at the national with brown/grey tinted one if you're interested?
