Well, as Tim said a rare motor and in fantastic condition with no rust. So i bought it.
Never thought i would go for a petrol BX but it was in too good a condition to let go by and i am well happy its an Estate too.
Well pleased with it, just over 50k on the clock and i will be all over it soon with the waxoil.
No dings, marks or dents to be seen. Fully maintained over all its life, anything that went wrong was repaired or fixed. Think ime a very lucky guy. Thanks for showing Tim.

I plan to go to Cornwall 3 times this summer so ile check out the mileage with it on at least 1 trip to blow out any cobwebs from the engine and give it a good run.
Its been lovingly looked after by the last owner, aged 91 and a real pleasure to meet. I hope to give it a good home.

91! Christ his emailing skills are better than mine!

"NICE" BXs are getting rare now Andy so I think you did well with her. over 40mpg is quite easy if driven correctly.

Might be his daughter Pat doing the email thing with you, a lot younger but retired and she looks after him.

Anyway, thanks Tim, most appreciate your help.

I expect to have to work on the motor a bit, what else could be expected for one of 20 years as not many make it to that age.
Now got to concentrate on so petrol spares as opposed to diesel bits.

Always worth keeping a clutch cable to hand, otherwise the XU petrol is pretty bomb proof although headgaskets have been known (ive never had one go though) and valve stem seals at higher miles. Asides that its just usual BX items, rear arms, octopus etc.

Good Luck!
