XUD9 engine for sale

Post by pitman »

Hi all,

I got an XUD9 engine with Lucas pump, timing belt with tension rollers done in May 2010 (ten thousand miles since then), glow plugs all fine.

It's in an ZX now (not the original engine) that will be scrapped now mainly because of too much welding work for MOT. The car will be on the road until next weekend.

How old the engine is I don't know as it was in the ZX already when I bought it.
It looks exactly as the XUD9 engine in my BX 19D.

Does it have the pulley on the end of the camshaft for the LHM pump?

Yes, it has. The belt drives a very small pump, looks like a brake vacuum pump.

That depends.

My scrapper told me on the phone that he would give me 100 quid for it.

I would leave the car there and walk back home in half an hour.

I wouldn't ask for more in comparison. But I don't know how you would like to collect the car or would you take out the engine on my drive way? I have never taken out an engine so I could only assist you.

The car itself has all parts to break, too, apart from the bonnet and the O/S CV joint. The MOT failure is mainly rust on both front suspension strut mountings, a whole under the driver seat and two seat belt mountings. The rest is only one CV joint, wheel bearings and rear brakes binding.
Wings and doors have no rust. Interior is nice and neat.
