Wanted AC Compressor
for the BX TXD. The eBay listing has ended (didn't have funds sufficient to allow me to buy that one - without causing 'upset') and although I contacted the seller I haven't heard back. Does anyone have a reconditioned/working spare one? Or know where I could get one from for a reasonable price?

This presents you with an opportunity to do the full R134a conversion doesn't it as you're opening the system anyway? You can fill the compressor from the start with the PAG oil it needs for (R134a) lubrication.
IIRC the other recommended things to do are:
(1) Replace the 'o' rings with green neoprene type for longevity.
(2) Replace the receiver/dryer which should be done anyway if the system is opened irrespective of gas used.
(3) Fit pipe-end conversion fittings for R134a
Once converted the benefits should be cheaper re-gassing more widely available from competitive firms.
DIY regassing is even available as halfords sell the R134a re-gas kits. In your case consider that for the time after though as a vac down would be wise after reassembly.
Any other quirks I'm sure someone will be along soon to mention.

Thats got to be a real bargain Phil. £60 for a reconned compressor.
I put ester oil in mine when I did the 134a conversion a while back as it works with both the residual R12 mineral oil left in the system as well as the PAG oil usually used.

The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.
