You should get the dipstick and old sensor from Citroen.

Got my 16v dipstick off ebay. End piece is different ,yellow plastic instead of black, but the metal stick is the same length. IIRC £10.

if it still avalible here is price and part NO. of the three way T piece union, which lives on the sub frame behind the battery, which i belive will fit the tank, and fit better than the original Y union on the tank cap as it will allow the pipes to come off leve,

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
5451210 RET TUBE SLEEVE 12.35 GBP 14.82 GBP 14.82 GBP

although the original Y union is priced a little less,

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
0000527014 3 WAY UNION 4.61 GBP 5.53 GBP 5.53 GBP

thanks for the ebay link - but don't think that'll fit a 16v unfortunately.

citronut: good tip. I've always thought the original thing on top of the tank is sited/designed is a perfect way to get smashed by the bonnet every time it's closed...

easier still, with the T piece, bin it off, drill 2 holes in the lid and stuff the pipes straight into the lid. Thats what I do these days!

That's what I've done too but in my case I've used a short piece of fuel hose to link the leak-off plastic hose directly into the centre of the cap. I haven't connected the second plastic pipe because its just a breather that ends open-ended in the wing. I figured that I didn't need the breather because the reservoir cap is not a tight fit so it can breath around the edges.

Update: sadly Citroen Whitechapel have told me the 16v dipstick and oil temperature sender unit are no longer available (unless anyone else knows any different?)

The LHM tank T/Y piece is though, and duly ordered.

Try a 205 breaker/specialist - the oil temperature sender is shared. I've also taken one from a ZX before, but I can't remember what model.
