A very rare car on that year though! One of the very first Mk2 cars!

Yes its a cat C, but thats doesnt mean it cant be mended. We repaired the Rover after it was dinged. You can insure and MOT it but will reduce what ist worth if it was damaged again.

I'm with Ken...

Whoever wrote on the rear window was right "total loss".

Parts car... to be used to extend the lives of others... all BX's should carry Donor Cards...

there's only one other "C" reg mk2 that i know off, if this car can be saved, its ultra rare,(unless its a private plate?) it should be,maybe worthless and unviable to repair at this moment in time, but in years to come, will look back as say, we should of saved that car! if i had spare cash and space id have it!

The reality is that the pictures pretty clearly show the chassis leg is bent, it ain't had all that wing movement from just the slam-panel shifting...

I've seen 20 or so BX's scapped i'd have like to save, but i've lost no sleep over it.

Yes, good ones, worthwhile ones should be saved... but there's a limit...

Judging by the early stlye dials its C plate alright, two wings, bonnet, bumper and lights and the front panel/inner wing will need some straightening. As its a 16 petrol it wont tick many peoples boxes.

The cost of the parts is not alot but its the time mending the rest which may put people off.

Just realised its an auto too!

trouble is, to us, its a free/ £50 car, not a £4-500 , saying that, that was what DS's were to me, now look at them!! this must have been a press / dealer showroom car?? it must be the oldest/second oldest suviving mk2 BX in the uk,for this alone it should be saved! How about a "BX CLUB GROUP EFFORT" ?? just a thought.........

It's hard to type whilst wiping the tears of laughter from my face...

It's hard enough to sell 1 car to 1 person with out bitching and back-stabbing... I'll throw in 50p for a side-repeater...

Bah ha ha...

Thanks for that :?

Anyway Chris, your selling not buying!

Is someone prepared to pay £150 for it though as a mate of mine knows of the salvage company as he does car transport, they dont let them go for less than scrap value (which I cant blame them for).

Apparently the local pikeys pay £125 per old snotter that doesnt get saved, strip bits off and weigh them in for £150 a tonne at the scrappers down the road, and were talking about over 20 cars a week!.

Sadly I think this will end up the same way.

Im happy donate headlamps, a bumper and an indicator to the cause!

What a shame. This has obviously been some one's pride and joy. Even has a Michelin on the spare, surely the sign of a loving owner.
