Rear Arm interchangability??

Having avoided rear arm bearing changes in the past, by stripping entire rear subframes out of small Pugs and Fiats, AX's etc, I wonder if the same procedure is possible with a BX?? I have a TZD which badly needs attention in that department, (and before it snows), and there's a GTI in a scrapyard down the road, which may yield the entire assembly. I have heard that the engineering on the rear arms of a GTI is different, is this the case? Any advice gratefully received.

They are different from ABS to non ABS cars but are interchageable.

Oh yeah, ABS. Forgot about that. To be avoided at all costs! Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do it properly...

Indeed, its probably just as cheap to buy a kit and do it properly, then you know its done.
