My 93 TXD's screen has just cracked, but I'm going to get a new screen fitted, as it's up for sale.
The problem with second hand is, if the black parts have started to go white it means the glass is starting to de laminate, then it;s only a matter of time before it cracks

i would like an OE screen, but i aint/cant pay the £100 quid the guy on here is asking from that pile of OE spares he is trying to sell,
Andy they use a heavy duty cheese wire to cut out bonded screens, but its hit and miss getting one out in one piece,
also i think it is a green tint in myTZD which i would like to keep the same (dont want much do he

Who's selling the screen for £100? Mine could do with replacement - it's a bit chipped (although legal) and there's a spot of rust under the seam in one corner. Unfortunately I don't have windscreen cover on the insurance, and I assume even if I did it wouldn't cover me whilst the screen still passes MOTs.
So buying one for £100 and getting it fitted may well work out cheaper than a supply and fit job.

Mat
it was NTShawofLouth offering the screen part No. 95653182 so i pm'ed him to ask for a price, which in fact he told me £90 and it is a vert (green tint ) going by the No. on service citroen,
after you saying you might buy it i rang a local to me indipendant windscreen company for a quote, which is £90 including fitting,
i also asked how much he would charge if i supplied a new the screen, which he said would be £40 quid,
he also says his supliers normaly only supplys Sekurit or Pilckington screens,

£40 not bad for fitting a windscreen IMHO.

This is why UK insurance prices are so expensive. Companies bump up the price 100% when they know an insurance company is picking up the tab. Ggrrrr

At that price, I'm very tempted to get mine done - it's well worn and chipped at 170k miles. Got contact details for that company? I'll be down that way in the next couple of weeks anyway.citronut wrote:
