Matt,
Why don't you buy them as the doors/window's are bascically the same as MK2's it's only the mirror's that are different in that area so I can't see a real problem with the fit (and a very reasonable BIN of £35 all in) I bet these will be SOLD before midnight

I think they are very much of their time: and I would bet money on them being far more effective that the later Climair-type for the Mk2.

Like them? Not the point if I had a 1985 BX... I'd even go for a rear window louvre and side stripes! In for a penny in for a pound. :D

I like wind deflectors but if they're anything like the mk 2 versions they'll fall off, crack at some point.. kept loosing the clips on mine, then finally a big gust of wind ripped the driver's side off recently!
I still have a mint passenger one a few clips but not the one that kind of bodge fits by the wing mirror..

The only car for those is Todd's '85 TRD (click below), complete with rear window louvre and more go-faster stripes than is drag-efficient. :)

I like accessories! If I had a mk1 I'd be giving those some serious thought.

I had another look at Todds TRD; a worthy clothes horse for every Citroen 'accessoirie' you can chuck at it - and VERY nice too!

Hello, it's me, emerging from the mists of child minding and flu..

those wind deflectors could be used as sails they're so big! My TRD unfortunately is languishing under a tarp in the barn in need of some TLC and head gasket too probably. I was thinking of melding the TRD and the 16v together.. only thinking about it.

Max, you've got a GTI now I see - I've been absent for a few weeks - what's the story on this one?

it's also featured on the French BX site 'BX World' as an example of how much tat a BX can take and still move under it's own power.

I'm not going to mess with it really. I'm putting all my dodgy mod/styling tendancies into the 16v which seeing as it wasn't much apart from ratty in the first place won't really matter too much. I'm determined that it hits the highway in Sping - it's been on stands for months now minus its rear arms and exhaust. I must get it road legal before it'll require a bankloan to fill it and drive anywhere!

On the subject of wind deflectors, I had some on front and side windows of a CX familliale that i used to own.

They are noisy and horrible. Just in case anyone cared :)

Could be good future proofing for when the IMF start using the 'black-gold standard'.

Todd, yes i have myself a GTi with a little fettling needed to get it running just right. It is spot on in 95% of areas, i'm just hoping the last 5% don't wreck my head. I'll get some pictures up and some back-story soon.

I now know what Todd-ao is after seeing the end credits of 'Logan's Run' !

/\ one of my courses at University was 'Hollywood film' so we watched a lot of films and a few were presented in the revolutionary 'TODD-AO' format ( widescreen projection) and hence I got labelled such! I've never seen Logan's run unfortunately..

So, there's no pictures of your new GTI at the moment Max?

As far as wind deflectors go I haven't had a BX without them ( I've deflected a lot of wind) so I can't comment on the noise they make as I'm used to it. They're good when it's raining and you can have the window down a little bit for some ventilation.
