Switched power supply, diodes to allow flow in only one direction and a resistor or possibly heater coil?

That looks like an anti back emf diode across a coil from a hydractive control valve.
BTW, The Mc Sheppards are unfriendly inward looking people with no windows.
My clan however is always entirely PC.

Do you have any numbers on the diode you can read or do you know what type and spec as i will have a look in my electronics shack and see what is in the parts bins i have tons of diodes it just whether i have the right one.

Unfortunatly the diode is buried and sealed within the componant
