Nice alloys though. Shame about the price.

Although having said that, if someones desperate for a set, has a few bob going spare and can't be arsed to go trawling here there and everywhere to get their hands on some - they might just cough up.

Forget the tyres: I wouldn't trust them. But for nice graphite Speedlines with bolts and centre caps, £100-120 I would have said.

I would have been interested if the tyres were safe but wouldent recommend using any tyre thats more than five or six years old

have spoken to the seller seems a really nice guy . He told me the tyres were on the wheels when he got them, he has no idea how old they are so I nicely told him the tyres should be scrapped. Lets see if he drops the price or holds out for what they are listed at

It's really not that difficult to find out how old a tyre is, as they all have a date stamp on them.
I can't remember how it goes, but if you care to search on google, you can find information on this very easily!
Until my last MOT, I was running a tyre with a 1995 date stamp on it...
I was forced to stop using it because of a bulge in the side wall.... the tread was still ok!

Dangerous thing to do bud, for your sake and those driving driving around you. Its not just tread depths you should worry about. Rubber ages, just like all of us. I think you should have 'forced' yourself to change it a long time ago.

The site below holds all the info that you need on tyre ages with the various codes. Anything which doesn't have a code on it, is sooo old that you are taking a very real risk. Regardless of how much tread & how the tyre condition appears to the eye, that won't be much use if you have a blow out at speed:

Under normal circumstances this may be true, but things are different in a Citroen with proper suspension!

Has anyone here had a high speed blow out in a citroen? I have twice, in 2 separate cars.

The first was at well over 130 mph, in my CX, and the second was at a more sedate 75 mph, in one of my BX's. (in fact, I still have the tyre and rim from the CX)

Both times, there was absolutely no drama at all...just a deep rumbling noise. If however I were in a lesser car, it would have gone out of control!

I have to agree, in a hydraulic citroen its less of a drama, however, the potential damage & hassle is more than the price of a newer tyre, but heyho each to their own
