Remember any bidders that they are different from Mk1 to Mk2 slightly.

Yes, Tim, but still not clear how to tell them apart from the part number. This has the same number as my OSR panel, so if anyone has any illuminating information on how to identify Mk 1 replacement from a Mk 2 if they both carry the same number, please speak now, as I am still hesitant; ripping off the old panels is rather like burning bridges...

It appears that the one in the E-Bay ad /\ was (As its now been sold) for a MK2, as can be identified by pre-punched hole that's visible along with a recess in the lower folded arch/edge (which can be also seen in the E-Bay photo) which is part of the feature/requirements to enable fitment of the plastic 'stone guard protector' as MK1's didn't have them !

See THIS thread for more info, also note that MK2 Hatchback model panels are also flared out more towards the lower/rear which gives more space for the fitting/removal of the rear wheels too (Hence the wider rear bumper to look flush with the increased lower arch panel) !

For the Estates model I'm not sure if the /\ applies due to the rear bumpers being identical for both MK1 & 2's !

So there you have it Des, now we know how to check out which fits what model

AFAIK estate rear wings are the same for Mk1 and Mk2. Certainly the estates didn't get the wider rear arches (which is why it's hard to fit wider wheels/tyres in estates). But since there don't seem to be any estate rear panels available anywhere, doesn't make much difference!

Mk1 and Mk2 estate Rear bumpers are the same, I think they only flared the wheel arches on the Hatch in provision for the GTi/16v wider wheels.

Anyway, back on topic, does anyone want to buy it, will post for cost....

Marvellous! =D> Both my panels seem to fit that description, although only the OSR panel has a hole, both have cutaways in the wheel arch to allow the plastic stoneguard to fit. Now to find a reliable bodyshop who can do a good job! Anyone got any recommendations?
