BX 17TD for sale £200
Bumped into a guy in the Risca Morrisons car park who is selling his dad's BX Turbo diesel which is taxed and tested until the end of the month - two days. He only wants £200 for it – I've not seen it but it is a runner... The car is in Cardiff and his number is 07790 578148.

Funnily enough I have my turbo/fuel boost pipe blanked off on the TZD so it drives more like my N/A TGD which I preferDollywobbler wrote:I'm not. I was going to take the turbo off.mat_fenwick wrote:Thought you weren't a fan of the turbo diesels?

There was no way I was going to get 200+ miles over to see it on such short notice, hope it works out for you (less competition for me when another comes up ~grin).

Well i bought it!! Its a K reg TZD turbo hatchback in faded red, 101,000 miles with 4 previous mot's, tax til the end of the month and mot til september.
absolutely stinking i got 2 big bags of rubbish out of it!! filthy mongerals!
It drives well but plenty to do heres a list -
power steering goes hard sometimes,
drivers electric window does'nt work,
no backing illumination on dash,
heater speed control not working,
cooling fan runs quite a lot,
front splitter damaged on the corner,
no wheel trims,
green moss on the window surrounds and mouldings
spoiler needs repainting (flaked on the edges),
broken glovebox door hinges,
Good bits -
It drives well, no rattles or knocks,
straight bodywork (just faded)
no rust,
interior in good condition (just dirty)
good clutch, brakes, engine,suspension
new glow plugs,
Lots to do to make it sweet again!!

you say the oil was black, so sounds like you have already changed it, very good idea.
Does the temp gauge read normal? if so, the fan fix should be easy.
Hopefully the power stewering problem is not the pump.
As Dollywobbler says, clean filters & new LHM 1st.
Perhaps a hydraflush for a month would be wise too.
Sounds like a good buy as you are willing to give it a good clean.
Well done in saving it.
