Hello everyone. A little advise needed.

Dodgy alternator in Betty, my back in '93 TZD. The one in there is a rather flimsy looking lucas example. I think 70A output.

I bought a brand new second hand Valeo alternator out of a 93 ZX with a the 1.9TD engine. So I thought it would fit, it being pretty much the same engine. However, the mount is totally different and it doesn't fit.

A. Does anyone know if I can get a mount that will fit in my engine bay for the valeo alt?

B. Does anyone have a descent alternator I could buy off them?

C. Any other suggestions? I have my engine bay in pieces at the mo, with the radiator out, I need to sort something quickly!

If you go to a metal shop & take both alternators, i'm sure a mounting plate could be made up so that the wrong alternator can be made to fit. Aside from that you'll have to get a correct one :cry: All the best in getting it sorted.

Looks right from where i'm sitting (on the sofa) :wink:

Although i'd suspect the terminals *may* be different.
I have zero patience for your tedium.

Looks right to me, knowing my luck the PCD will be 10mm out or something.

I got mine from GSF, cost £54 exchange, bite the bullet and get the right one, less aggro in the long run.

I should, but it's :shock: £273 -£120 exchange for this type. I think the TZD has a higher powered alt.

could try repairing it, if it a swap out regulator / brush box... it's simple to do :)
