Indeed - Aluminium bodied BX cars were built (albeit in small numbers to order) at Lord Earnshaws plant hidden in a remote part of England. The exact location even to this day remains a secret - though many people have spectulated that it explains why Fleetwood. (Not why is Fleetwood anything, just Why?)
They were originaly finished in brushed metal, but what is not widely known is that they had gull wing doors from new. This was a sly move on Citroens part to compete with the super car manufacturer Delorean. The car was fitted with an experimental new drive system, which not only would have made this the fastest production car in the world, but also put an end to parking tickets.
Sadly the project folded when one day an experiment in improving the power output from the TD engine resulted in the factory and all the staff present being sucked through a wormhole and leaving the site barren and unihabitable.
Legend and records are inacurate regarding the nature of the accident, however a young producer from Hollyhead heard about it and turned it into a blockbuster film, getting the car totally wrong in the process.
The remaining cars were shipped to Slough, fitted with standard doors and repainted green. They can however be identified by a strange flashing Y shaped device under the dash near the fuse box and by welding near the door hinges.
Many owners dogged with starting problems have thrown this "Y" bit away and replaced it with a standard relay instead. Once again a truly fantastic and rust free car failed to see the liht of day.

Recent scruffy diesel n/a estate - "The Red Shed" - is no longer mine. - x 9
Could be a nice spares/trim car for someone - despite the bodywork description. I dread to think how someone might describe and price a metallic gold one on ebay....
I'm rather warming to Hurricanes at the moment after seeing a nice one in France which DID have genuine climate control (aircon to be precise).

I was meaning the Orane / Hurricane variant guide you mentioned.
The content is fine - bags beter than I could write / be arsed to write after a day at work. Keep it up Ian (BTW, got a BX Club sticker yet? Limited supply )
