'Arrow' BX alloy

Post by toddao »

Quite useless as there's only one. I've only ever seen it in an accessories brochure but I think it's good. Cover missing too :

RW Arrow

From the defunct manufacturer RW of Ghent who made the 'Swift 2' BX alloy for the German market. I'm fascinated by all the alloys that were specified as extras for the BX here in Germany and have now all but vanished. How about a BX alloy musuem? Probably wouldn't be over-attended!

As sported by 'one of those other makes' of cars

I'd go. Looks like it'd be quite a small museum though?

Yes, it would be a micro-museum, like a micro-brewery! In and out in two minutes!
It could only have - maximum - eight wheels. Apart from the classic 'Metric' and 'Speedlines' available in the Uk there were a further, perhaps, six available here : Swift 2, Arrows ( as above), Ronal/Postert Tuning ( of which I have a set) then two further designs - one of them another from RW - that I don't know the names of.

I could team up with Remy from over the Rhine in France and have his peerless collection of BX brochures and ephemera 'on loan' inc. an incredible collection of Heuliez photos.

Then we could have the BX 'leisurewear' and 'lifestyle' section : jackets/ties/ T-shirts, luggage.. cocktail sticks, stickers, table lighter, ashtrays.

What you might call a niche market. I must get out more!

Todd , I can't believe you forgot the most important items for the museum, cavity covers, headlamp protectors, sunroof wind defletors and rear window louvres, oh and most importantly.

Ok, I'll photograph them tomorrow. They are Ronal, from the early 80s and it was the Citroen mechanic who gave them to me who said they were Postert but just searching the web now to find some similar I had no joy. So I don't know what they are really, whether they're Postert at all. They have all the right measurements - offset etc - for the BX. I was considering fitting them to my yellow peril next week with summer tyres.

They're a bit like this but the covers are lost:

In a similar style Isdera/Ronal

I'm actually looking for a splitter for my 16v - can anyone 'donate one to the musuem?'

I found one in a French scrappers last year but the guy wanted €50 which I thought was daylight robbery but upon reflection.. (what with the 'surge' in splitter values!)
