At first, I was willing to ignore the failure of the central locking on the BX, but the tailgate is the problem!
Fuse is ok, so what do I check next? Neither front door will operate the central locking. Previously, both did - though unlocking the passenger door did not unlock the driver's door. Locking the driver's door did previously lock all doors. Scared there might be a wiring breakdown somewhere. That's what did for my Peugeot 306.

door shut wiring,
dont wory there aint as many wires in the shut as a 306,
and make sure you extend the wires so any repair can be pushed into the A post,
regards malcolm
