Rear rubber boots

Post by Discoil »

I had a friend ( mot tester ) look over my BX ( 3 months to go ) before its test and he commented on the rear suspension boots torn.

I used the angle iron method to straighten the small bars , thank you , and now I need two boots please.

Anybody know of a possible source for these .

I already have the securing pin replaced so it wouldn't be a long job to change.

Have you tried your dealer? I bought one fairly recently and didn't have problems. I'd do it sooner than later, as I didn't spot a pinhole in mine until rust took a hold on the piston surface, meaning there was quite a bit of LHM passing the seals. I suppose a torn boot is less likely to hold much water, but even so...

The Xantia boot is shorter than the BX one ,as is the piston rod.
I have some Xantia ones and tried to make one fit until I realised that it wouldn't stretch that far.
At least I managed to get the locating pin out ok.
