Not according to plan

Post by kiwi »

Wednesday took the TXD into the garage to have its clutch replaced with one that is not stuck and difficult to engage gears with. One of the planned maintainance since getting it.

Well not quite gone to plan! Firstly a t-piece to those clear return pipes on the nearside was disturbed and broke, they replaced that no hassle but not sure where they are refering to. Next was this hose leak by the water pump! Well on refilling they found the radiator had small leak in the lower nearside, so that went off to radiator specialist to be dealt with. Unlike the garage I had been using for the last 6 years who failed to flush the cooling system and were happy to bung in radweld for the leaks. [-X

So its a long weekend here (Queens Birthday) so will be Tueday at the earliest getting the TXD back, further delaying into winter the removal of the TZS blocked heater matrix which I had planned for this long weekend. Cutting it close with 2 weeks before going back to work and needing two reliable vehicles. Worst case we have a mitsi that goes forward but not reverse to fall back on #-o

are you sure the garage didn't poke a hole in the rad with the gear box on removal.refitting,

the only T piece around the gear box is on the sub frame behind the battery,

There is a point from what I understand they fixed the leak by the water pump first then found the leak in the radiator while waiting for the courier to deliver the clutch parts. Still makes me a bit nervous of doing the matrix job on the TZS given it sems rads in this country leak it seems when ever they get disturbed. [-o<
