BX Club at the NEC - Post-event discussion

Post by Dollywobbler »

I need a team to help me run the stand at the NEC. Whether you've offered a car or not (I'm aware not everyone offering a car wants to or can spend three days on the stand) please put your names down below as follows, indicating your name and which days you can attend. You won't necessarily have to be involved on every day, you're just showing potential availability. Thursday is just an evening set-up and I'd imagine those with cars will be plenty to help. We've not got much of a stand. Keep it simple! The three cars I'm planning to have on the stand allows us to have six exhibitor passes per day. Therefore it's important to list any passengers if you are bringing a car.

Ian Seabrook - Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun

Bump for this thread. Please let me know which days you can do. Depending on how many of you there are, I should be able to arrange for you to have a free exhibitor pass.

You got my full name on Facebook ;P

Definitely Sat/Sun, possibly Thu/Fri, but waiting for confirmation of leave request from work. I'm also happy to taxi people whose cars are locked in for the weekend (and would love some floor space chez Tim if available please?). Will update asap :)

Super. Thanks folks. Anyone else? This is free entry into a spectacular classic show and on-stand duties mainly involve just chatting to the occasional person about the BX they used to own. Nothing too arduous!

For info, I've got to come back home on Saturday evening, so I'm now doing Thurs-Sat. Means I can't help take the stand down, but I don't think that's going to be too much to do anyway! We could do with suitable chairs and tables. I'll bring my camping chairs but a fold-down table of some sort (or a couple) would be handy.

I can volunteer for one of the weekend days - depending on which is most short staffed. But it would probably make sense to give priority to those who can be there for longer.

I'll help set up for a couple of hours Thursday evening, and will be there Sunday. If I can swing it, I may be getting a lift up with a mate who used to own a GTi, and who I'm trying to talk into finding a BX to replace his AX GT

I'll bring a large/ish camping table and appropriate tablecloth. Do we have anything for static displays?
