BX Preview a 14TE ?

Post by bobbyholland »

Hi,

Is the BX Preview a 14 TE or just BX Preview?
The St.Tropez and Flight and Rendezvous are 14TE.

Greetings,

Bobby

Hi Bobby, the 'TE' for the ST Tropez, Flight and Rendezvous is the trim level the special editions are based on. The preview is based on the '14' the very basic, one model up from entry level, the boot should say 'BX14' with Preview on the other side. The entry level, lowest spec BX sold was just called the 'BX' with no trim denominations.

See this incredibly sad spreadsheet of all the BX models in ascending trim level for each engine (I can say it's real sad cos I made it :) )

Do you have a preview then? It's one of my favourite 14's (GTi interior and all white special edition-coolness!) aside form a delage red TGE.

The 14E and 14TE are basically the same car, the E was replaced by the TE in late 89 when they facelifted the range and changed the badges etc.

The preview was a 14E with GTi interior, side stripes etc.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

No, I live in The Netherlands. I have a BX 14.
Just curious about the Preview edition.

I have never seen a "BX 14" badge!! Only with 14E,14RE,14TE,14TGE.

The preview was a UK special edition, you normally find Citroen did a simailar one in different countries, but with a different name.
