thanks Richard ,
I only live about ten minutes from Newport Pagnell but have never met the man himself,

The phrases 'Citroen Xantia' and 'years of trouble free motoring' are of course mutually exclusive except under two conditions; 1. You are Jim Eastment, or 2. Jim Eastment is your bezzy mate. Nice chap and what he doesn't know about Xantias probably isn't worth knowing.

It's quite interesting that Jim only bought a Xantia as stop gap car originally and wasn't initially a follower or mechanical guru of the Citroen marque. He's become a master technician purely by chance really. And now he has a fleet of them [Xantia's] that he is, quite rightly, proud of. :)

I suspect he had some prior mechanical knowledge though? For instance, I bought a 'Xantia as stop gap car originally' and it caused me to make like Sylvia Plath in the kitchen! :D

That was most certainly me :D

I was feeling rubbish that day and was desprately trying to get home amongst all the carnival traffic

It's true. In 2005 i really did buy a Xantia as a stop-gap as I had an urgent towing job to do and my then 205GTi couldn't do it..

The rest is history...

Mickey, feel free to come round for a visit and a natter at any time. The welcome mat is always out
