Correct ATF and LHM

Post by merlyn »

Can someone please advise on the correct ATF to use in my car? Level is ok at the moment but would like to purchase some to have on standby. Also is there any particular LHM that anyone would recommend?

Thanks, Jane

I've no idea about ATF fluid (someone will be along in a minute suggesting Dexron something other I suspect?). The only thing that seems to vary about LHM is the price; I just buy the cheapest as I think it's all manufactured by the same two or three companies.

Dear Jane.
Hi-ya Sis  I was reliably informed by others with auto,s, on the forum Jane :)
that the automatic transmission fluid that you will need to get is called " Dextron 2 " I
managed to get 6 litres of the stuff to change the oil in the auto box, when it stops
r******g long enough for me to do that  I got mine from my not so local factors,
without too much trouble Jane
Hope This helps

Yes Dexron II (no 'T' Vince) is the right ATF, I prefer genuine Total LHM available from some GSF stores if you ask for it specifically. It is a much richer green colour than some of the cheaper / alternate versions but wether it is any better I don't know.
