A BX for Charlotte!

Post by Mathius »

As many of you know, my better half is after an BX again.
I know that what she really wants is a 19TZD or perhaps a 17TZD.
I've been scouring the internet etc looking and have yet to come across one.

I thought the best place would be here and as I'm relatively new to the whole BX thing I thought you might give me some advice.

Might even consider an estate!!

Sorry to be a pain but thought I'd try to do my bit and get u into the BX community.

Thanks alot guys!!

Matt

(Made a slight edit. Just really want a BX!!)

A shame you missed this one. http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=16638" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not on your doorstep but it was a right ol' bargain. TZD prices have been rising. Everyone wants one. I don't quite understand the desire to have a TZD though - are a few more electrical toys really that important? TGD spec is plenty for me - and a few were sold in Turbo form.

I saw that, just too late! It was a beauty! (I was secretly after Phil's Red Baron that I saw on Cars and Classic but alas she has gone!)

Didnt think they made many if any 1.9 TZDs. I have heard that a turbo has been added to an n/a diesel though so i think the 1.7TZd is the best option. 1.9TZDs probably of the 'hens teeth' variety.
Well impressed how the 1.7 TZD goes though as ime a new convert.

So TZD dosnt neccessarily mean a turbo, only level of trim? Why then do we assume a TZD is a turbo? Are 1.9 n/a TZDs particularly scarce and is this what the original op mean and wants either an n/a diesel or a turbo? Personally i would go for the turbo, although i do like all my n/a diesels, having had them quite a while. Been using the n/a Estate a lot today.

It certainly seems like most TZDs were TZD Turbos, hence it usually get shortened to just TZD. Don't think there was a non turbo TZD estate though, so if it's described as a TZD estate it must also be a turbo.

The car i just sold was a 1.9TZD non turbo, they are rarer than the TGD and quite different trim wise to the TZD turbo hatch. There was no non turbo d tzd estate as Mat states.

Matthew !
It was actually your good-self that posted up 'the original spot ' for BX /\ which Tim and I rescued from being sent to meet its maker IYCR ?

Mathius,
If you looking for 1.9 TZD you may be waiting a while for one as they are very rare, so if its a 1.9 N/A your looking for, I'd be seriously be looking at THIS-ONE to home, also a nice reg. plate

If you want a 1.7TZD Turbo you may need to wait hopefully not for too long for the next good one to surface or try contacting this E-Bay vendor of this TZD HURRICANE + (a TZD for spares) which did not sell, so they may still have them available ?

Good luck in your search !

:)

Andy, yes the TZD is just a trim level and does not actually relate to the turbo which has historically been a common mistake made by many.

Aye. People assume the T in TGD stands for Turbo when we all know the letters stand for TurGiD! :p

Merc estates catch people out too. A W123 300TD is a 300 estate diesel non-turbo.

I meant non turbo tzd's, & yes they only ever made manual TZD Turbo's as the torque would kill the auto box.

Cheers for reminding me Rich, i vaguely rememberd that previous discussion, but the old grey matter is getting greyer

Indeed, the T stands for "transport" meaning Estate.
