GSF ebay

Post by Defender110 » Sat Aug 04, 2012 9:35 pm

Sometime last year I enquired about some strutt return pipes listed on ebay by GSF as genuine citroen, I enquired to see if they were genuine citroen as listed before I bought them. When they replied saying they weren't I pointed out they shouldn't list them as genuine if they are not. I got a kurt reply to this.
I have now just tried to buy a rocker cover gasket from ebay off them and find myself as banned from purchasing off them   :D

Unfortunately that seems to be the usual standard of service from GSF these days :x

The ebay site seems to be their clearance outlet, as I've used it to buy GS bits that they don't list in their catalogue, and that their local branch tells me are no longer available.

the strut return pipes GSF sold did used to be genuine, but genuine ones maybe are not produced anymore, as it was only made for the BX,

I have now just tried to buy a rocker cover gasket from ebay off them and find myself as banned from purchasing off them
I would find that offensive Kevan - and being offensive is illegal of course. Sadly there's probably not much anyone is likely to do about that - police have plenty of other eBay generated nonsense to deal with as it is.

I'd be inclined to report the seller to eBay refering to the original 'item wrongly described' and asking if they are within their 'rights' as a seller to refuse further purchases on eBay.

I suggest asking rather than going in with all guns blazing for a number of reasons - firstly, eBay tends to take the seller's side when the seller is a business, secondly, eBay's help system is geared to sorting out incredibly simple problems and anything outside of that is likely to confuse the hell out of what appears to be a population of relatively dim people who appear to have to chose from 'reply paragraphs' supplied by eBay and which are not usually very helpful - quite often, it seems to me, to be designed to let eBay off the hook.

Asking rather than complaining should give eBay less opportunity to take umbridge at you - though that's not guaranteed of course - they seem quite capable of picking up the wrong end of the bog-brush.

Good luck.

Ebay problems solving is like motor insurance these days TICK IN THE BOX.. Its done because employees with brains cost money but they pay peanuts and get the monkeys and we suffer. I had a very rare Porsche 911T variant of which only 35 had been built called a 911 T/R (an ex-Le Mans car) and this Porsche specialist insurer insisted there were only 911T. I finished up getting an letter agreeing IT WAS A 911 T/R and paying the going rate premium for a T. At the time a T/R was worth around GBP 100,000+ and a T about GBP 20,000.

Malcolm, GSF used to sell genuine strutt returns and/or replacement ones which were cr-p and rarely lasted 12 months which is why I wanted to know which ones they were.

Brian, I have no interest in wasting any of my time on them, it just amused me that I am banned so thought I'd share.

There've been a couple of times where I wish I'd had that level of wisdom Kevan  I've had conversations with the eBay monkeys that just got further and further away from a solution.
