The last 16V in Britain...

Post by JayW »

We all now the figures are never completely accurate but according to http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/citroen_bx_16v" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; There is only one BX 16V left in the UK! The more odd thing is it's an '86???

Who here has one of the rare "16V" registered ones?

Fortunately, there is a massive 116 GTi-16V's left on the books, although more than 3-qtrs of them are SORN.
I have zero patience for your tedium.

Mine's a GTi 16v on the logbook, even though by designation it's just a BX 16v.

Wouldn't mind betting half of those on SORN have been scrapped and not had the p/w taken care of. Mines one of the 20-odd still taxed.

Mind you, those figures use DVLA data entries.....

mine too is a GTI 16V on the V5C, and is also taxed, until, oh bugger, the end of this month..
I have a very early 16V also, it might be 1986, I dont actually know, although it's buggered beyond belief and will never see a road again

IICR the First 16v launch cars were mid 87 on a "D" plate, althought by the time they were on general release you were on to a "E".

I've got some press stuff with a D-plate car (and a C-plate GTi) but I've never actually seen a D plate 16v in the flesh, or even on something like a forum.

I thought that the 16V was how the later CAT equiped cars were registered and the GTI 16V applies to the other cars, regardless of whether they are Phase 1, Phase 2 or how they are badged.

I will have to check the V5's of my cars when I get home, as I have a E and F reg Phase 1 that I can check, but from memory they are both registered the same even though the earlier car is the different badges.

After an online rummage through the 16V forum:

http://bx16valve.co.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... sc&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Adrian E found out some interesting information in 2010 before the howmanyleft data was first made public last year IIRC.

I haven't compared these figures to the howmanyleft data to see if they align.

As of 7 years ago when I moved from Surbiton there was a silver D-plate 16V in Berrylands which always seemed very early to me. Never ever saw it move.
