Just had a clearance offer from a battery specialist, for an Optimate Testmate Mini. Really handy little tool for diagnosing battery and charging system problems. Pretty much foolproof, but probably not worth it for most people at £30-40 usual price.
They're knocking them out at £9.99, at which price it's rude not to...

Re: Useful battery/charging test tool
Is it anything more than a voltmeter?

Re: Useful battery/charging test tool
No - if you've got a decent voltmeter and know how to use it then you probably don't need one of these. On the other hand you don't need to actually understand what you're doing - just attach it, plonk it where you can see it from the driver's seat, see what it says with engine off, start engine and see what it says while cranking, run engine and see what it says while running. Even an electrical klutz can't get it wrong. Also, all my vehicles have charging tails for either Optimate or SAE-type connectors so I can just plug it in - no faffing about with voltmeter probes.
As I say, not worth the original asking price, but I've definitely had enough use out of mine to make it worth a tenner!
