Fuel filter wanted. Mk2 16V

I've not checked availability of new filters yet, and obviously it's the sort of thing that needs to be as new as possible, but can anyone sell me one that was letting petrol through when last in use? I doubt that they're all the same:my 16V item is an aluminium canister bracketed with the fuel pump in a rubber sleeve, under the car beside the offside rear wheel.

Abundant on ebay, cheap as chips. There is only one type for the 16v.

They're pretty universal anyway. Cost a few quid from any factor.

I presume its not the fuel pulse damper (correct name?) thats leaking?

Thank you everyone who replied, pointing out that fuel filters can be easily found and inexpensively, such as the one I got from Europarts only two miles from home. Sad and embarrassing to think I've been a car owner for 40 years in ignorance of this mechanism. (Happily the engine had fired for a few seconds before failing to do so absolutely, thereby raising the car just enough to get a scissor-jack underneath, and subsequently myself.) Thanks again. P
