Damn. What a shame. Wrong time. Wrong place. Perfect BX (as far as I'm concerned).

Re: gti auto
Looks a good un. Judging by the interior's condition I'd say the mileage is genuine.

Hello!
they're still out there
there's also a nice 84 CX 8 seater estate on the bay at the moment too with the 2.5i engine and manual gearbox. Best engine, style, interior, manual, nice colour albeit needing a little tlc. I've heard the 2.5 diesels can be a bit difficult round town.

Well, i hate to be a pessimist(sp) (actually, that's a lie), but ith just 26k on it don't you think there might be mention of history/old MOT's to confirm such a big asset? My interior & bodywork are immaculate and that's got 80k on it.

Re: gti auto
Looks v-nice irrespective of mileage, & at least the starting price wasn't £2k, which these day's makes it a bargain
Interiors wear very well imho & i think it can be difficult to judge how many miles a car has done. The velour seats really look very good on my 153k TXD & could easily pass as virtually brand new. It does help that i wet cleaned them & then came up new, superb
Now the outside of my car does look like its been round the block, but even so it's in much less rust condition than cars that are half its age that i regularly see trundling round.

Re: gti auto
i'd want to see good service history - regular oil changes, what kind of use it's had.

Re: gti auto
Looking at it, I think asides the usual old giffer parking dings the mileage could be correct, the paints good, original wheel trims attached and the interiors lovely.
Service historys get lost as people have a tendency to remove the book from the car for "safe keeping" which never gets seen again, my 19TZi is a victim of an old forgetful womans tidying frenzy!

Re: gti auto
yeah i'd be happy with a verbal history if they seem honest and there should be some MOT history available online

This one? It's got the same cloth I had in my yellow break and goes transparent with age so it can't be that heavily worked. I reckon that would be right thirsty and cost a few €€€s in tax. Are you thinking of disposing of that embarrassing Asian aberration then Max?there's also a nice 84 CX 8 seater estate on the bay at the moment

Re: gti auto
A mate of mine had an auto version, which would generally do low 20's to the gallon - this may get a few more but still less than 30 I'd expect. Tax would be the same as most BX's as the break point for the tax level on older cars is 1549cc

Re: gti auto
I think because Sir Max is in the €-zone the tax would be the same as here sausage-side. For example, my 16v without Cat - €550. That CX here would be pushing €1k for tax per year?
Wonderful cars of course. I'll just look at other peoples' and pics, thanks

Re: gti auto
Me too - as long as you have a diesel to slog around in. Less then 30 to the gallon is thirsty as far as I'm concerned, but I expect (assuming it's all up-together) probably as nice a drive as you'lL get from a BX. Looks lovely too.Philip Chidlow wrote: Perfect BX (as far as I'm concerned).
