1993 1.9 TGD Blue Estate For Sale (E-Bay)

Post by RxBX »

As title listing (K580 DGB) spotted for sale on E-BAY , needs some TLC but could be a good workhorse for someone (If the price stays low) the seller states being 'Re-listed due to time waster' I can't remember this one being listed F/S on E-bay recently (I've even checked their completed listings - Zero) !

Maybe it was good while ago or some other advertising media other than E-bay ?

I also wonder if the Red Estate (K627 LGW) is the replacement, which was recently listed on E-BAY and as posted in THIS forum thread ?
E-bay Seller wrote:Good everyday car, I've used it only for long journeys and changed engine oils and filters etc. With some work, it could be a real classic of the future. I'm only selling it because I was lucky enough to find a very low mileage BX. This car is relisted because of a time waster. The winner of the auction must collect the car by 22nd of Dec. Cash on collection.

Not me - but I was keeping an eye on it as the auction ended - price went too high for me to consider it as a stopgap while I'm getting the gearbox sorted in my red TGD. I'm driving the Granada at the moment of course - but I wondered how much I would save / how far would I have to drive to save the cost of this BX - so I did the maths...

Just considering the cost of fuel, driving the Granada for 1,904 miles would cost the same as buying the blue BX and driving it for 1,904 miles. That's not many miles to pay for itself !

Interesting maths :) but only valid if able to swap tax/insurance from another of your cars without a fee and MOT still running.

Well yes that's true - if I had waited till the end of the year and swapped insurance from my TGD to the 'new' one and surrendered the tax on as well it would probably have been done for very little cost - the granny has always been taxed and insured anyway - but I might sell that next year.
