I didn't think it was boring - I liked it! 8) Jaba and Hilary look exactly the same as they do in real life - but quite a lot smaller though.

Just a shame none of us recorded the sheer noise that were the TD's on the rollers!

Dyno sessions are quite interesting. I had my Firestorm 'tweaked' and its now putting out 120 bhp at the back wheel. It's quite nippy on the back roads now. [-X

I must come on the next one, it would be good to try and set mine up a bit better rather than by seat of the pants tuning. Would be better once the extraction system is fitted though...

It would be nice to put my car on the rolling road but its too far to justify it for one day sadly. I hope the next session has a more diverse turnout.

just as a matter of interest, what fuel were the valvers running?
If there is another event down there, and assuming I haven't bankrupted myself again at that point, I might try and get both of mine down there.

Very much faster, and somewhat more taught in the suspension really.
Having driven my valver everyday for 5 months the performance aspect seemed lost on me, until I put the TD back on the road, and wondered why it was so slow. It isn't, just nothing like the 16V.
That said for cruising the TD pisses all over the valver, but for fun, no contest at all, 16V all day
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Tesco Petrol+ or what ever the hell it's called. The valver seems much happier with the elevated octane, regardless of the probable damage it is doing to the innards. Think its 97RON as opposed to 95RON

Mine was running standard 95RON, purchased in October/November time

The best result I ever got on the dyno was 158bhp @ the fly (power at the wheels was lower that day, but it was hotter IIRC) and I *think* it was running V-Power that day.

Doesn't seem to make any difference to mine in the real world though what fuel it's running.

Mine was running on Shell Vpower. But I run it on 95 Ron sometimes though I try to use 97 Ron when I can...

Along with the oil, mine was running on ASDA's finest 95 unleaded. I only buy the highest quality oil and petrol for my car...

interesting.. Tesco's Momentum is allegedly 99RON, Vanny..
Ok, I have the 2 row ECU, which I think Kitch's does too actually?
But my car feels far less "grunty" on Tesco's stuff than V-power.
No idea how it would run on 95RON, since I've never run it on standard fuel.
That said, when we went to get it it had 95 in it, and it ran like a stuffed pig. Although that engine was shafted..
Just oneday I might have to cross Kitch's palm with silver and come down with a few jerry cans of differing fuel and see what odds it makes on the rollers, if any..

It's difficult to test a car on different fuels. I guess best bet would be to have a small tank beside the car with another pump rigged up and put the opposite type of fuel to that in the car's tank in the little one.

I did runs with and without Super unleaded, at opposite ends of the month. Difference was negligable, possibly 1 or 2 hp at the wheels. But because I didn't do them on the same day, there are too many other variables in it to call the results a fact.

Get it down mate
