What's the basic spec of the TGE?

TGE's have central locking, electric front windows, big clock instead of a rev counter and I think the sun roof was an option. The front seats have rake adjustment but not tip. IIRC the rear seat didn't have a central arm rest. I believe it was the replacement for the earlier RE

TGE is higher spec than RE. My TGD estate has rev counter, tinted glass, centre arm rest, elec fronts and tip adjustment on the driver's seat.

My TGD hatch had a sunroof. Pretty sure it was standard with TG, but not 100%.

Which begs the question. What is actually the difference between R and TG then?

The facelift? Didn't they have different bumpes/rear lights etc and the TGE have the option of tweed but came with herringbone (grey/red/pink)? And the engine of course, weren't TGE's TU and RE's 150?

Difference between the RE and TG was smoked rear lenses, different wheel trims. The late RE's got the herringbone trim and that carried on to the TG models, the tweed was always an option.

All TGE had the TU engine, but some late RE models had the new lump too, most 14TGE models were down as 14RE on the V5 logbook for some reason.

Yep, my TGE was an RE on the logbook - I guess because the dealers were a bit slow changing the paperwork over. My first BX, an '89 RD estate had an identical interior to the '90 TGE except for the earlier car not having a split rear seat

I wonder how many posts have been done over the years regarding car specs, interior designs & the differences? I wonder if it's time that someone or those interested in this stuff actually post up a definitave guide as this topic always seems to come up time after time. Any volunteers?

Erm no, spec levels don't interest me at all. The condition of a car, rather what it does & doesn't have regarding toy's interests me more. Though there does seem to be an ever growing number of members who seem v-interested in this type of stuff, i thought it might save having these questions asked time & time again. Or i could just be a miserable sod who's getting bored with this stuff & therefore i should make a point of not reading these threads??? What a grump eh, haha....
