Tech weekend: just hold the dates for now-w/e 25-26 May

Post by Caffiend »

Franklin had kindly offered to speak to Barry Annells about whether he would be willing to host a tech weekend at Bourne. Unfortunately, Franklin hasn't been at the last couple East Midlands meets, so I thought I'd raise the topic today as Alan K was ably chairing the conversation about "what shenanigans shall we get up to this year then?"

In principle, 25-26 May have been agreed by Barry for an E Midlands tech weekend (to which, I am sure, anyone would be welcome) Some funds from CCC may be available to help cover costs. These were initially assessed as minimal until I queried whether any of those present had actually *seen* how much tea BX Clubbers are able to get through. Obviously, if we are there, then there will be less capacity for customers as well, so big gratitude to Barry and Mrs Barry for being so hospitable as to offer to host such an event. Seriously folks, I'm sure that it won't be 'spensive.

All the logistics (accommodation etc) still to be arranged/confirmed - the Annellseseses will look into the possibilities. I'm just posting this as a 'heads up' for those who wanted to go to the next weekend so you can hold the dates :)

Great idea, with someone who certainly knows his onions. Sadly likely to be too far for me and I suspect I'll be busy that weekend.

If I've got another job sorted, then ill definitely be up for this. Can bring bxclub hq as a spare accommodation block. Tea and coffee aplenty!! Thanks to Sandre for preliminary arranging. :-)

No credit to me. I just asked the Annellses(es) if they'd be willing to do it, then sat back, smugly smiling to myself and thinking "job done" as Alan kicked off the dates/logistics discussion.

Apologies folks this hasn't had the wheels in motion sooner - I'd have liked to get to the meets but just so damn busy... [-X

I did ask a while back and all seemed fine and I'll keep in contact with Alan as usual to get things moving along nicely in the near future...

I've also posted this dates on the XM forum. Hopefully it should be a good turnout, with a variety of Citroen models. And no, I'm not referring to Claudia Schiffer!! 8)

No, there'll not be any - they'll have all expired on the way there with failed autoboxes, electrical issues or collapsed front struts

I've just sent a strut top mount to kinGas in Lithuania for refurbishment. The auotbox was flushed and refilled with lovely Dexron 2 and my XM has 100 % electrical attendance, just not all at the same time!! 8)

I hope nobody objects, but I've posted details of this proposed technical weekend on the FCF. Received positive feedback so far.
