Whilst searching the local scrapyard, I came across this 19RD in Brun Maya with Tabac Blond interior, which is quite a rarity these days. Vehicle is complete at the moment, and looks fairly straight, although there was rot in the nearside sill from a cursory inspection. It appears to have been stood for a while before ending up there, judging by the deposits of algae in various places! Only showing 122k on the clock. I think it might have been a 1987 on a "D" plate, although the plates had been removed. Old round air filter casing. Interior looked to be in fair order, although the large chair dumped on the front seats didn't help any examination! Sadly, this vehicle is not for sale complete... .
Also got approached by a young chap who happened to be jacksun1987! He was looking for Xantia parts, while I was looking for Passat parts!
Scrapyard is Windleys, near Tattershall in Lincolnshire. Here are some pictures

I agree! It doesn't look a total rot-box, but it would probably depend on what it's like on closer examination, and if the mechanicals are OK.

If a certificate of destruction has been issued then its fate is sealed unfortunately. I think if you can convince DVLA that a vehicle has historic importance then this can be reversed, but I imagine liaising with the DVLA but be a long, drawn out procedure.

Is it just me or is everything shit?

Even if the whole car can't be saved, hopefully parts of it will, hence this post!

There's an F-plate BX that colour on a drive about 5 miles from my house. Always seems to be there, can't remember what model it is. I'd flyer it for fear of looking sad & geeky
Ide love the Rad Tim,
plus the air filter box, waxstat, fuel filter primer thingy plus all the fuel pipes leading from it and the diesel pump plus the bits holding the rad in position.
I understand you are busy bud so its not a problem if all thats not possible. Sophie's new rad hasnt got the strip of metal across the top, i gather its just loose on the top, protects the core.
By the way, had Sophie up to 120 KPH [80+] on Thursday, the fastest ive driven her and no water loss whatsoever.
