BX14 TGE 1990 G for sale

BX 14 TGE 1990 G Runs nicely and everything works, but unloved for the last few years so cosmetically in need of a lot of tlc. Too good to scrap.
117,000 miles. Central locking. Electric front windows. Sunblinds in rear parcel shelf. Tailblazer. (Red rear panel) Black door handle protectors.
Engine sounds sweet. Good hydraulics, starter, alternator, exhaust, clutch, gearbox, battery, tyres. All rubber return pipes renewed a few years ago. No leaks.
In white (now turning a shade of green!) This car was our family car from 1992 for many years before being taken over by other members of the family then being returned to me when it had fulfilled its purpose!
Located in Bradway, south Sheffield. No t&t. Make me a fair offer. No tyre kickers please.

It seems the scrapman will give £130 - £140 for it. That seems an awful waste considering all the good bits on it. If anyone can take it away for say £120 I'll be more than happy. It drives nicely so should be a doddle to load onto a trailer.

DONT scrap it! Someone will want it, a picture speaks a thousand words though, anything wrong with it that you know of? rust holes etc.

Hi Tim,
talk of the devil.
Rust is present in the inner nearside wing seam, under the bonnet. Not a big job. The boot floor has a hole at one back corner but other than that it's solid.
A picture would show just how green a white car can get if neglected for long!
I don't wish to scrap it, but that's down to our readers, I'm afraid. As mentioned, I'm extremely reluctant to do that to it!

Last time I checked 'How Many Left' there were only about a dozen of these registered - there are probably more as several seem to be registered as RE's (mine was), but they are still probably rarer than (for example) valvers!

If that's all the rot that's in it then it's very good!

thanks. Mine is registered as an RE on 'How May Left.' Also in the log book..
I was in the middle of replying to your earlier post when Tim's message arrived, and by clicking on that to read it my original missive went missing. That Tim has a lot to answer for...
I was agreeing with you how underrated the 14s with that sweet TU engine were. (Not the earlier laid-back-gearbox-in-the-sump monstrosity.)
Going on to say that this car is hard for me to part with because it's been in the family for so long and I know just about every nut and bolt on it.
So visiting the scrappo is certainly not to be entertained lightly. I even kept this 14 when disposing of my rather nice 16v a couple of years ago; trying to rationalise the collection.
Now we're down to 4 cars - the lowest for many a year. And this is my 4th and final BX.

Anyway, Dursley isn't that far from Bradway! 2hrs 38 mins according to Bing.
But then it looks as if you've just disposed of your 14 anyway...

Yep, I reluctantly sold my 14 at Stratford 2011, as at the time I couldn't justify both it and the GS. I'd only bought it as a stop gap while I was sourcing a replacement rear subframe for the G, but did fall in love with it. I do miss it sometimes, but the couple of times I did longer trips with it loaded up with bikes it turned out to be thirstier than the GS, and I couldn't face selling the G as we'd already had several adventures together! It's now in the hands of another member, who is in the middle of restoring it while waiting to be old enough to actually drive it!

I'm wanting to slim down my collection aswell, so unless you want to do a deal with 1 or more Dyane projects I doubt I'd be taking it on!

Geoff, why not advertise it on the free car & classic website, you'll have more of a chance of it finding a home than on this site tbh, as most of us already have more than one BX so would struggle to find space for it, but i echo the others thoughts of not scrapping it.

Thanks for the interest.
It's in the evening - about 8.00 onwards but if you want food, get there a bit earlier. For anyone wondering what Mark's talking about, the Northern Section of the Citroën Car Club do a couple of pub venues per year, this is the first for 2013, on 2nd May at the Bay Horse in Scholes Village. Rotherham, South Yorkshire S61 2RQ All welcome - it would be great to have a BX presence there!
Then our next Noggin and Natter will be on 5th September - - ‘The Three Tuns' Dronfield, S18 1XX. A real ale pub with at least 10 real ales on tap, most brewed by Spire Brewery in Staveley, Chesterfield.

Still no interest in the 14 btw. Does it have to be that big resting place in the sky? looking quite forlorn out here. I just can't bring myself to take a photograph.
