I don't know if you noticed there's already a thread STARTED but not much info with ref. to your question !

However if you take a read thro' some previous threads of a 'Pilot' model (#1 LINK and #2 LINK) they should be enough info to decipher the engine and spec. question which you've asked about !

Good luck with it if you buy it !

:)

Its basically a standard 1.6 RS (eleccy front windows/central locking) with BX GTi interior and wheel trims, special graphics and power steering (normally an option on the RS), only made for a short while and available in Venetian Red or Alpine White. A very nice looking car and quite rare these days as the survival rate on the 80's 1.6 cars is pretty poor.

The biggest problem with all petrol BX's is the carburettor, the solex can goout of adjustment and run rich and the autochoke can be a nightmare, people trying to adjust it when they dont know what they are doing can make it worse, if it works ok then leave it well alone, if its a problem then they options are 1. Fit a manual choke/weber carb (rare) 2. Have the solex rebuilt and set up properly.

Asides that watch for blown and leaky headgaskets, and the usual BX rust issues.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Ive owned a dozen or so 1.6 petrols, they are very much overlooked in favour of the diesel (thats not to say that the diesel arent great), if you get a good one with a decent carb they are a lovely drive, expecially if its got power steering and a manual gearbox.
