Maybe Ian can tell me if this is the bit the 4X4 up here requires to get it going?
BTW, are 4x4 gearboxes exclusive to those models only or do they have a seperate transfer box which makes the difference between them and 2wd versions?

Both. They have a gearbox unique to this car,I think I once heard that it originates from the C25 van and a transfer box to give you 4 wheel drive. This is the thing that self destructs on the BX 4x4 causing many a premature trip to the big car park in the sky

If mine goes that will almost certainly be the end of its life as a 4x4.

I've got a 2wd subframe in the garage ready!

Just testing  Fair to assume then that neither gearbox or transfer box are any further use then Ian?

Plan is to get car scrapped asap now. Ian, have you finished with it? I know your exhaust is still the other side of town so that won`t be going anywhere.

is this the white 4x4? I may still have access to the crashed Pug 405 4x4 for some rather nice running gear for this shell..

What condition is it in now?

..and the wheels, twin headlights, bonnet (with `Oily replica` bonnet bulge), side repeaters, side skirts, front bumper, seat belt cushion doo-dahs and countless other bits I`m afraid.
