Post by rutter123 »

can anyone advise me where i can obtain some chassis plugs, they are approx 35mm diameter and plug the holes in the chassis just under the front footwells, there are 5 either side most of which are missing or broken. or an alternative that would fit. thanx

Hi bud,

there's 4 big'uns and 1 small one on the scrapper[estate]. I suppose the hole may be 35mm but overall the size of the plastic plug is 50 mm.
Got the lot on both sides, just got to dig em out.

I'll have to check, but I suspect that the large plugs are common across several Citroen Models, including 2CV. If so, then they may be obtainable from somewhere such as ECAS.

Does anyone have those inner wheelarch plugs (they're about 2.5 inches long), mine have disintegrated & i'm convinced when driving it creates extra noise inside the car.

Did have bud but found that the TZD was missing hers so the scrapper provided replacements.

They're definitely shard with other PSA cars - I got some from a 306 a couple of years ago. To prove whether it's them making a noise you could temporarily tape over the hole.

I could, but i'd rather just get some plugs to sort it anyway as it can't be good with it letting in road spray/muck into that area due to the missing plugs.

Have got some rubber chassis plugs today they are 38mm diameter but do fit nice and snug, they came from an electrical wholesaler and are generally used for blanking stuffing gland holes £2 for 10,bargain.
