a Red 19 TXD, reg K125 UBV, for disposal

Post by pmh »

Following some exploring of the front inner wing rot I have decided to give up on K125 UBV.

Pity because mechanically pretty good and remarkably lively for a a non turbo!

It will go for scrap (£140) unless somebody can make an equivalent offer - I am not in a position to break it.

Also needs an alloy thermostat housing - corrosion - it is out of coolant so cannot be driven other than move around driveway.

SORN and will need a trailer to get it away in the next 3 weeks.

And the wife wants it off the drive.

I have started to cut out the inner front wings and also discovered that the thermostat housing has a pin hole leak (corrosion of the al body.)

Seems a pity because mechanically it was in good condition.

Anybody interested ? South Herts. SORNed,Will need a trailer as coolant has now escaped.
Scrap value collected £140, but may consider (slightly) less from someone who has the time and enthusiasm !.

Good luck with it if you can save this one !

Easy fix for someone with the skills? looks a tidy old thing and would of course polish up well.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

thought I would bump this in an effort to save it from the scrappy,
I took a look at this on Friday, its a nice straight car but a bit too much work/time for me to take on at this time, Peter has cut out a large area of rusty metal from the n/s inner wing, the aircleaner and other bits have been removed for easy access to the whole area, on the o/s inner wing is a much smaller area of corrosion which hasn't been cut back yet but could prove much more fiddly to repair with the hydraulic tank and pipes so close, the o/s sill at the rear is a little crunchie, so some work will be required there in the near future if not for mot, the engine is sweet but will need a replacement fuel filter body as the alloy base has perforated letting water leak from the thermostat housing, the interior is nice and tidy and the car looks great in Red, I hope someone can save this in the next week or so.
