Triple LHM joints, all missing

Post by Thread Bear »

Each car, ABS, I have obtained is missing the green three way joint that sits on top of the LHM reservoir with a return and breather pipe in it. Also handy for when one fails on the crossmember. So I now need 4 of them as one cross-member one is very soft, just as they get when about to split in half. I know Pugs use them on some models for the PAS, I think. They supplied them in pairs. Is that a Citroen part or available from another source?

Still available last year - our local dealer had 5 in stock. Also a similar part used on the Xantia I think.

make one up using a readily available plastic T piece, from most motor factors available in 4/5/6/8/10mm dia and oyher variants, ive used these on the tzd when i replaced the return pipes/breather to the res.

There is a reason a Y piece is used...

I've just used a short stub of fuel hose to join the liquid pipe to the cap. The cap is a loose fit so I figured it could breathe around the join. Doesn't seem to cause any problems omitting the breather pipe.

(ps: a T piece won't interrupt the flow and you'll lose LHM into the wing.)

here is price and part No.'s for the tank lid Y and the front sub frame T in that order

Y
Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
0000527014 3 WAY UNION 4.89 GBP 5.87 GBP 5.87 GBP

T
5451210 RET TUBE SLEEVE 12.65 GBP 15.18 GBP 15.18 GBP

i have made the lid one up from a plastic T and three very short stubs of dead octapussy tentacles,

but i do see Y it should B A Y, as its intended to direct the incoming capillary flow into the tank, rather that allow it to get into the vent pipe,

the reason it did not use a plastic Y piece is it would bring the pipes up against the bonnet to much/tight

I just drill two holes in the lid and push the plastic pipes directly in to them. I thought everyone did this.

As per THIS thread

I wonder if sub777w has a couple left, per the /\ thread/link (as I've not seen any posts from them recently) ?

If you do it this way there is a risk that the second pipe could act as a siphon if its dipping into the tank and drain your green blood into the wing. No real need to drill your second hole or insert the pipe.
