Breaking 16v

Post by Kitch »

Just a preliminary post to say I'll be heading to Stratford in the estate in a couple of weeks so if anybody will be wanting spares from the red shell now is the time to say if you're also going to Stratford! There are lots of bits I intend to keep from both it and G-SEG but I'm keen to recycle the cars as efficiently as possible so there will also be lots of spares available. I'm actually determined to not throw away any working parts!

Parts already taken/reserved:

Bodykit/bumper - Doc
Green tint rear lamps - Doc
Boot Badges - Rob C
Monza interior - Scrof

That was it!!! I knew there was something I wanted if anyone was breaking a 16v, but just couldn't think of it until now! :( Mine is cracked too, although not too badly.

This one's cracked too, but whoever wants it can have it. The interior is Monza but provisionally sold.

Just running through my head, I'm going to have (at least) the following bits available between the red shell and G-SEG:

Set of Anthracite 16v wheels
16v front bumper (with tow eye cover), arch spats, skirts, tailgate (with spoiler) and C-pillar bits) and door mouldings (all seperate or could sell as kit) I DON'T have a rear bumper spare.
Black interior bits (carpets, dash, trim etc - not the actual seats and doorcards at this stage)
Vented front brake setup
Green tint rear lamps (if Doc doesn't want them)
Headlamps, indicators, repeaters etc
Pair of manual mk2 mirrors

Effectively, I'll be keeping a car's worth of bits, so it's the duplicates between them that I'll be selling.

Probably loads of other stuff that I can't quite remember at the moment. Drop me a line with what you need. I've got to sell the stuff, rather than donate, as I'm hoping to get BAH resprayed (or mostly resprayed) before the NEC show, so am trying to raise funds for that.

Anyway, I'm limited on space and time so breakage will be in full swing shortly. Let me know what you need!

Cheers

But mine has (at least) 16 valves. 8 in the head, oil pressure relief valve, one on each wheel, the TX valve and the heater matrix control valve. Anyway, I prefer the size of the 16v one (insert your own joke here...) but no need for another cracked one.

if it hasn't sold already, I'll give you folding for the body kit, front bumper and green tint lights!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Even if the calipers aren't in the best of conditions, the only 16v specific bit is the jaw. The actual mechanism is the same so can be swapped over from either your original caliper or another good standard one. Well worth doing if you suffer from brake fade, or just for the cool factor ;) If the discs are past it, new ones aren't that dear - I paid £10 each for Valeo parts from AEP last year.

Tailgate badges are reserved for you Rob....Chevrons I don't have spares for, and BAH has chrome ones, when I'm starting to wonder whether it's supposed to have the black(ish) ones, so I'll probably keep those. But the search for your other gear is over!
