For sale for real this time round, Bruce the TZD turbo estate. I'm very sad to let this car go. I bought it as a cheap knockabout and it's done me fantastically well (ill-timed hydraulic leak aside), but I've just been offered a newer car for gratis and I'd be a fool to turn it down.
Bruce is no looker and has been used as a workhorse for some time. However, I'm the third owner from new, the first having run it as a company car then bought it from the company and finally sold up in 2008. During that time there is a full service history from Citroen and independent specialists. The next owner was a classic car enthusiast who used it as his runabout but kept it thoroughly maintained, and there are some receipts for big works in that time. I've owned Bruce since March this year. I gave it a good oil service when I first bought it and have done other jobs as and when necessary.
Currently showing ~172,000 miles (still in active service so will change a little). Engine is very strong indeed, returning ~42mpg in day to day use and a comfortable 50mpg on the motorway. Have done some minor work on suspension recently so no knocks or rattles, although a full hydraulic service wouldn't go amiss. Tyres all good, could use some front brake pads before long. Used to have a few coolant leaks, I initially radwelded it but this didn't work so I've fixed them properly now and flushed the system. There is some rust around the drivers door hinge which will need looking at before MOT but I doubt will cost a fortune. MOT is up in November, tax end September. All the usual TZD accessories. Switches for leccy windows are a bit finickity but all work.
I honestly wasn't expecting much from Bruce at first, but he's a cracking car and will be much missed. With luck I'll find my way back to the BX fold in the future, I've got the bug now! Looking for offers around the £500 mark, car is in Reading, my number is 07816238934 or PM me here.
