Brake pads
Kermit's found a set of genuine Citroen front pads for a BX in his shed. Part no 95-624484. Anyone know if these will fit a 1995 ZX 19D?

Re: Brake pads
Sorry, they're different. The ZX pads (from memory!) have a spring retaining clip which is part of the pad backing.
If he wants to sell them I'd be interested, but obviously one of you may well have plans for a BX in the future...

Not in our plans at the moment, sadly. I guess you have his email address?

Re: Brake pads
Hi Phil,
As Mat has stated, ZX ones are totally different, but even if they were almost identical like on the odd occasion you get offered by some motor factors for an XM, but in fact there for a Pug 605 (As the Pugs don't have the piston Anti-rotating 'Pip' which should be fitted to the piston side) so if it was a similar scenario on BX/ZX you's need to fit the 'Pipped' featured pad in the Outer side hub/disc position and checked if it fouled any of the calliper workings (If so you'd need to grind the 'Pip' off) but there actually three types for a ZX 1.9D !
or if fitted with 'Bendix' brake System :-
and if fitted with (Possibly) a 'Lockheed' brake System :-
The ones /\ (A Spring type again), I've personally never seen these type fitted to any models of Citroen or Pug

Re: Brake pads
Now strangely enough, I've just found a set of thoseas well - also in the box that came from a Citroen dealer's clearout. Someone's written 'Renault 25 GTX' on the box, which seems to check out. Also seem to fit various other Renaults and maybe Pug 305? One of the pads has obviously been fitted for a few miles but not enough to wear it at all. One of the others has lost a few mm - from the backing plate, because some donkey has fitted it the wrong way round so the piston's been pushing on the friction material and the backplate's been grinding on the disc....
